80's child.

This is kind of my tribute to my childhood and the 80's. Oh yes, I was an 80s child. When I was growing up, cartoons were only on on Saterday mornings, and they were early. If you didn't get up, you didn't watch them. Here are some of my favorite cartoons as a child in no certain order.

The Lost Boys ~ ahh Corey Haim ~ I thought he was so cute!

Beetlejuice

A Christmas Story

Dirty Dancing ~ I was never allowed to watch this one, but it just seemed like it would be sooo cool!

Then there was the eighties music. I wasn't that into Micheal Jackson, but I do remember when he looked like this!

Photobucket

I was one of those little girls who swooned over New Kids on the Block! I had their videos, posters, tapes. Yep cassette tapes, cds werent all that in back then. I am not sure if they were even invented then... hmmm, maybe I should google that one! Well I did and they were. I guess I just didn't have one.

Photobucket

Then came my mom's nightmare...the hair bands. Oh how I loved the eighties hair bands and being around ten and eleven at the end of the erra, I started noticing those hair band hotties! LOL. Down came the New Kids on the Block and up went the hairbands. I am sure my mom cringed everytime she came in my room.

Oh and who could forget the fashion!! The neon clothes the huge hair. slap bracelets, you could actually wear the little plastic bracelets with out them meaning anything like they do now (which really makes me mad, by the way).
The huge ear rings and biker shorts. And can you believe this stuff is actually coming back in style?

Photobucket

The hot clothes ~ notice the sexy socks with those high heels, well guess I should say leg warmers.

Photobucket

Oh and the out fit that I wanted so bad!! I didn't get it of course, but I wanted it.

Photobucket

We, like kids now, had our own slang. We said things like far out, totally, not, psych, no way dude, and the whole valley girl talk where like every other like word was like like. And Oh my Gaaaawd. Thinking back it was probally one of the silliest erras in history. I so wish had been born in the sixties and seventies, but nope I got stuck in those 80s. I guess it was fun. I would like to challenge you all to play along and do a tribute to your childhood and erra. If you do, please let me know! It would be like totally far out dude!

__________________________________________________________________

I posted this request ealier today and I got back on to check my blog as I always do. I was overwhelmed by the comments and the people praying for Erin. I want to thank you all. In one of the comments, I was directed over to another lady's blog. Her name is Brenda. You can click here to go to her blog. She has a very interesting post on there about a sponge and I can really relate to this blog because I have been feeling that way alot lately myself. She also has some prayer requests on her blog as well. These people are in need of prayer and this is the best way that I have found to get these requests out and for people to pray. Prayer does change things!! Uniting in prayer is incredible and I am so blessed that I have people to pray for me and my family and others in need of prayer. Again I want to thank you all for taking the time to come here and pray for Erin. I love you all and you all mean so much to me!

Busy busy

I have been so busy lately. We got in the two youngest boys bedroom this weekend and worked worked worked. I bought some blue lightening paint, and classic red paint. I was going to just paint and put up border, but that just wasn't cutting it. They had prehistoric carpet that at one time i think was supposed to have been beige and brown, but after years and years of wear and tear had became light brown and dark brown. Their room was very dark, despite the two big windows in the room. Here is the before pic.

I did paint and I put up cars border. While I was painting, I moved the carpet back a little bit because I didn't want to get paint all over the carpet. Well when I did, guess what I found, I found hard wood floor, it was in good shape, but was it in good shape everywhere? Only one way to find out, so I did! I pulled it up and wow it was pretty. It needs to be sanded and varnished, but with some tlc will be beautiful. Here is the finished product.

sorry about the alignment, dont know how to fix it.

That wasn't enough though I had to do my room to. It is still a work in progress but I have enough done to show you how it will look. I am impressed. Here are the befores and afters of it. Hope, this is what Daniel calls the blood bath room!

good morning all!

I have an update on my little boy. Yesterday when he got up, the swelling in his leg had gone down. It still hurt, but it was getting better. This morning, when he got up he could walk without his foot turning sideways. He even ran through the house for me! I was so happy! Once again, thank you all so much for the prayers.

Yesterday at school was favorite character days! Grayson dressed up as Shaggy Rogers from Scooby Doo! As I was getting Grayson ready, he said mom make me some chest hair to, so we drew a few hairs on his chest. I thought it was so funny.

Kirkland dressed up as pinnochio (please ignore spelling as spell check still is not working).

The winner will not be announced until Monday morning.

I also got my hair cut last night the way that I have been wanting it. Here is my do

I also found a friend's number who I hadn't talked to in about 5 years. I have often wondered about her and how she was doing. I miss her very bad. I decided that I would call the number and see if it was still hers. It was I was so happy. We talked for a while and caught up on the lastest in our kids lives, we also exchanged email addresses, hopefully we will not lose touch again!

(Kirk is the blonde!)
If you prayed for my son, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Last night we went to church and an older lady there looked at his leg and told me she thought it was a blood clot. I thought she was crazy, because he is so young. When I took him to the ER today, the doctor came in and looked at his leg. He said "I have never seen this in a child. I think it may be a blood clot." My heart broke, I was scared to death. I know that blood clots can kill you, and I couldn't bare to lose my child. I couldn't cry I couldn't show any emotion at all because I did not want to scare him to death. He ordered numerous tests. They did a lot of blood work, they checked potassium, infection, everything. They also did this test on him that would show blood clots through blood work. They did an ultrasound on his leg. They did x-rays. I could not go in with him when he had his x-rays so I had a good time to pray. I cried as I prayed for my child. I still cry when I think about it. I had no where else to turn. I sent a text to my mom, i sent one to my brothers gf and asked them to pray for him as well. We waited about an hour on the test results. The blood work was normal, the ultrasound was normal and he doesn't have any broken bones. The doctor said that he has no idea what it could be. He gave him some pain meds and sent him home with no gym for a week and no school today. He told me if it doesnt get better he needs to be seen again. The doctor also made it a point to tell me again that he has never ordered an ultrasound for a blood clot on a child that young and he really thought that it was a clot. Since nothing showed up and he has no pulled muscles, I am thinking that my child did in fact have one, but God smiled touched him sometime before the tests were ran and healed my baby. What ever it was I praise God that nothing is there now and again I want to thank you all for praying for Kirkland! Please keep him in your prayers as he is still not up and moving like he used to and is still in some pain.

Also please see my blog below because I have some valentines for you all!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Woohoo love is in the air!! Can you feel it? I can. My hubby woke me this morning with lots of kisses and hugs. I loved it! I am so glad he has been my sweetheart for almost 13 years now. We have been married that long anyway. We have been together off and on since I was in the fifth grade! So yeah we were childhood sweethearts. I also love my baby valentines. They are still sleeping this morning and I am going to have to get them up soon. I think I will wake them up with piggy kisses. I snort on their necks and they giggle themselves awake! I wanted to give you guys some valentines but I want to do it a little bit different than most people do. This is for anyone who visits my page. It does not matter if you are brand new or a frequent visitor. If you read this play along. I am going to give you a choice of your valentine. I like lots of different things, so I wasn't sure which one you would like. Please take one and display it on your page. Let me know when you get it up so I can see which one you choose, if you have a hard time deciding, take two. I have lots of love to share!

It says coffee AGAIN

Yesterday I went to the clinic and got some medicine to make me lose weight.
The doctor said that all I need to lose is 38lbs. I stopped by Hopies house after the doctors visit. Hope and I had a great time. We talked, laughed and drank coffee. This was speacial coffee though, well, the coffee wasn't speacial, just regular coffee. The cup was whatwas so speacial. It actually said coffee, but that is not all, it also said cocoa and sweet!!!! I felt like a princess since the woman at the dollar store wanted to sell me the cup that said JUST coffee for 15 bucks! I told Hope that I wonder how much she would try to sell me this rare cup for! Below is me with the coffee cup! By the way I do want some they match my kitchen to a T!

Daniel also fixed my mommy ride yesterday! I have an awesome van that I missed so bad while it was broken so today I went and got tags for it. It was so cool! I loved being back in my mommy van. Tommorrow I have to take my little boy, Kirkland, to the ER. We don't have any insurance right now and last Saterday he hurt his leg somehow. He had ball practice that morning and then he had a friend come spend the night with him. While they were outside playing, his friend hit a rock with a stick which broke and flew up and hit him in the knee. His leg is swollen from his knee down and his knee is blue. I do not know what is wrong with it. Nothing I have given him seems to help. Hopefully we will find out what is wrong with it, it seems like if it were a pulled muscle, it would be better by now. At least a little bit anyway and the swelling should have went down quiet a bit. I will let you guys know what the doctor says. Please pray for him. We would really really appriciate it! I love you all and I thank you for your posts and letting me be a part of your lives. You mean a lot to me!

I also recieved two awards from Karen H. They are so cute!! I love them both! Thank you Karen! The royal banana is the first one!

and this one is the cool cat award!

I know that most of you are friends of Karen's but if you are not, then please take these with you as well.
Well it is time for bed, we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow, blah!
